Elijah’s Journey

At just a year old, we felt something wasn’t right. Elijah was constantly banging his head, and one day his words simply disappeared. Our world shifted in 2023 when testing confirmed his diagnosis of Level 2 Moderate to Severe Autism and Global Developmental Delay.

Growing, Learning, Thriving

With therapy and a supportive school environment starting at age 3, Elijah has slowly opened new doors. He’s communicating more, expressing his wants, and finding new ways to connect with the world around him.
As a gestalt language processor, Elijah learns language by first memorizing and using whole phrases or "chunks" (gestalts) before breaking them down into individual words

Why We Started This

Sharing Elijah’s story opened a path for us to shine a light on autism acceptance. In 2023, we created Elijah’s Autism Acceptance Celebration, a community event powered entirely by love and donations.

More Than an Event

We originally hoped it would help individuals on the spectrum meet new friends—but quickly discovered it meant even more to the parents and caregivers. It became a safe space filled with connection, understanding, and shared strength.
